Only The Curious

The first question people usually ask when they meet someone new is, “so, what do you do?” I do a lot of things. Several earn me money. Many more don’t. So I struggle to answer the question.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 2004 with a degree in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature I moved back to my hometown of Madison. Since then I’ve worked as a karate instructor, marketing assistant, phone order processor, office manager, cooking school assistant, massage therapist… and currently earn money as a freelance writer and aspiring rockstar while looking for work in Colorado. (Okay, well, I don’t really earn money as an aspiring rock star. But I hope to someday…)

I’m currently living in Denver, Colorado, and loving every minute of it. My ultimate goal is to be location independent, doing work I love, when I want to, where I want to.

My interests are wide and varied. I love meeting new people and learning what they are passionate about. Given the option, I will almost always choose to be outdoors and/or doing anything that involves music.

My goal with this blog is to share what’s going on in my life with family and friends, as well as to inspire others to pursue adventure, non-traditional lifestyles, and to never let anyone tell you that you can’t do whatever it is you want to do with your life. Because you can. I’m proving it.
